Arrested for Carrying a Gun in the Airport?

New York has some of the most stringent gun laws in the United States. While most states issue concealed carry pistol licenses to their citizens, New York makes it almost impossible to obtain a license to carry a gun.

While most states recognize pistol licenses from other states, New York does not have reciprocity with other states. New York does not recognize pistol licenses from other states.

The number of people arrested in New York airports with firearms or other weapons is staggering and frightening. The overwhelming majority of these individuals are law-abiding citizens who become ensnared by New York’s gun control laws. According to an article recently published in January 2020, in the six prior years, almost 500 people have been arrested just at LaGuardia and Kennedy airports both located in Queens within New York City.
